Description

Jarrod’s Boiled Linseed Oil- A Versatile Finishing Solution

Jarrod’s Boiled linseed oil is a popular choice for wood finishing due to its quick drying time and versatility. It’s created by blending raw linseed oil with driers, which accelerate the drying process.

Key Features of Boiled Linseed Oil

  • Fast Drying: A thin coat can dry within a day, compared to weeks for raw linseed oil.
  • Versatility: Suitable for a wide range of applications, including wood furniture, sports equipment, musical instruments, terracotta tiles, stone steps, and garden furniture.
  • Water Resistance: Provides excellent protection against moisture.
  • Wood Compatibility: Suitable for most wood types, although some sources caution against using it on oak.

Application and Maintenance

Drying Time:

  • Initial Coat: 24 hours
  • Subsequent Coats: Once the previous coat is dry

Coverage: Approximately 20 square meters per liter

Number of Coats: 3 coats for bare wood

Re-Coating: Apply additional coats as needed, especially if the surface shows signs of wear or dryness.

Maintenance:

  • Regular Re-Coating: Re-coat annually or when necessary to maintain the protective finish.
  • Cleaning: Wipe the surface with a damp cloth and buff dry.

Application:

  • Tools: Use a foam brush or lint-free cloth for application.

By following these guidelines, you can effectively apply and maintain boiled linseed oil for a durable and attractive finish on your wooden surfaces.
