Jarrod Water Based Wood Stains are professional products appropriate for all interior wood applications.

Available in a range of fast drying Low VOC & Safe colours suitable for spray, dip and hand application. Formulated to provide excellent grain definition and depth of colour on all types of wooden substrates including floors, doors, cladding and much more. Jarrod’s Light Fast Wood Stain are resistant to colour fading due to light fast pigments.

The standard range includes popular primary and wood colours, bespoke colour-matched tints are also available as special order. Please contact us directly for bespoke orders.

Jarrod’s water based Wood Stains must be sealed with a cellulose lacquer or suitable varnish coats to seal in and protect the colour.

• Pack size: 50ml Sample, 250ml, 500ml, 1L, 2.5L
• Touch dry:  45-60 minutes @ 18°C
• Re-coat: 45-60 minutes @ 18°C. For flooring, 2 hours minimum before sealer/topcoat
• Coats: 1 – 2
• Coverage: 8 – 12m² per litre dependent upon the size, orientation and surface quality of the item being coated

Preparation & Application:

Before applying Jarrod’s Stains ensure the surfaces are prepared all previous coating completely removed, a detailed sanding has been carried out to expose the grains. Surface is clean, dry and free of dust and debris and all sand dust must be wiped off. Always carry out a colour test on a small area to check suitability. Different types of timber may have a slightly different stained finish due to natural variances in timber.

Prepare the timber by sanding using a 180 grit sandpaper first and finish with a fine grit 200-220 . A temperature of between 18C-22C will provide excellent application environment. Keep good air ventilation. Apply 1 to 2 coats for desired finish of the wood.

Water Based stains can be applied by hand using a clean, soft lint free cloth. Excess stain can be wipes clean using a clean cloth this will enhance the grain definition. Always work along the grain when applying and wiping excess stain. If applying using a spray gun, apply evenly a wet coat and wipe excess stain with a lint free clean cloth. Always follow grain of wood to apply stain avoid excessive gun strokes. The wiping off process will enhance the evenness of the colour and highlight the grain definition and the natural look of the substrate.

Cleaning:

Used brushes or pads should be cleaned with soapy water and same from all application equipment.

Storage:

Jarrod’s Water based Satins should be stored above 5c and protected from frost. Store in well ventilated area. Keep it seal tight and away from children’s reach.
