Description

Morrells Two-Component Wood Filler formulated for use on metal, GRP and timber for interior and exterior applications. It is also suitable for repairing damage to corners and edges of furniture and is supplied with a separate hardener. The standard range consists of a 11 colours which are the most widely used wood colours.

Morrells 2 Component Wood Filler is a professional grade, quick drying wood filler. Once set this product has excellent mechanical features and can be machined and sanded prior to finishing.

The filler is based on polyester resin in combination with extenders and fillers to give good adhesion and anchorage properties coupled with minimal shrinkage and absorption. They are quick drying with excellent sanding properties.

Preparation

Surfaces to be filled should be clean, dry and free from surface dirt, debris and other surface contamination such as silicon, wax, oil and surface coatings.

Mixing

  1. Add 2-2.5% of the supplied hardener to the filler
  2. In cold conditions, increase supplied hardener use to 3-3.5%
  3. In hot conditions, reduce supplied hardener use to 1-1.5%
  4. Thoroughly mix the two components together
  5. Once mixed the filler has a working life of 5 minutes

Application

Always apply on a test area before starting on a full project application to check product suitability and compatibility. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions on the tin at all times.

  1. Apply using a putty knife or a scraper.
  2. Always apply a slight excess amount of wood filler to allow shrinkage during drying period.
  3. Very deep hole may require two step filling rather then a single application due to risk of shrinkage during drying.
  4. Ensure good ventilation when using this product.
  5. Once dried, Sand the filler using a quality 180-240 grit sandpaper.
  6. Now surface is ready for final finishing touches.
